She Plays is building the future of athlete-owned commerce.

We help women athletes build personal brands, launch merchandise, grow their audience, and create new income streams through customized storefronts, content, and community.

We're launching with an athlete-first approach, working directly with elite, collegiate, and emerging athletes to help them monetize their influence and own their brand.

We're looking for a hands-on builder who can help us scale from our Shopify MVP to a category-defining commerce platform.

 

The Opportunity

This is not a traditional eCommerce management role.

We're looking for someone who has successfully built and operated an eCommerce business from the ground up and understands what it takes to grow from zero to $1M+ in revenue.

You will own the day-to-day operation and growth of our Shopify ecosystem while helping shape the future architecture of the She Plays platform as we expand into Medusa and custom commerce infrastructure.

This role is ideal for someone who loves building, testing, optimizing, and scaling.

You won't be managing a large team.

You'll be doing the work.

What You'll Own

Shopify Operations

  • Build and manage storefronts for athletes

  • Configure products, collections, navigation, merchandising, and promotions

  • Manage integrations with Printful, Gelato, Klaviyo, Meta, Google Analytics, and related tools

  • Optimize conversion rates across athlete storefronts

  • Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with developers when needed

  • Improve site performance, customer experience, and merchandising strategy

Growth & Performance Marketing

  • Own Meta advertising strategy and execution

  • Build, launch, and optimize campaigns

  • Manage creative testing and audience development

  • Track CAC, ROAS, conversion rates, AOV, and LTV

  • Develop athlete acquisition and customer acquisition funnels

  • Collaborate with founders on growth experiments

Analytics & Reporting

  • Build dashboards and reporting systems

  • Monitor sales performance and athlete store performance

  • Identify opportunities for increased revenue and conversion

  • Make data-driven recommendations to leadership

Platform Expansion

  • Help evaluate and implement our transition from Shopify MVP to Medusa architecture

  • Work closely with technical leadership on requirements and roadmap planning

  • Translate business needs into technical requirements

  • Participate in platform strategy and infrastructure decisions

  • Ensure commerce systems can scale as athlete participation grows

What Success Looks Like

Within the first 12 months:

  • Help scale She Plays to $1M+ in annualized GMV

  • Launch and optimize dozens of athlete storefronts

  • Establish profitable acquisition channels

  • Build repeatable operational systems

  • Improve conversion rates and average order value

  • Help define the roadmap for Medusa and future platform development

Required Experience

Must Have

  • 5+ years in eCommerce operations, growth, or digital commerce

  • Deep Shopify experience, including theme customization and app integrations

  • Experience managing Meta advertising campaigns

  • Demonstrated success growing an eCommerce business from early-stage to at least $1M in annual revenue

  • Strong understanding of conversion optimization and customer acquisition

  • Experience working directly inside Shopify rather than only managing agencies

  • Ability to analyze data and make informed growth decisions

  • Comfortable in startup environments with ambiguity and rapid change

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience with Medusa.js or headless commerce platforms

  • Experience managing developers or technical projects

  • Familiarity with Klaviyo, GA4, Google Tag Manager, and attribution tools

  • Marketplace, creator economy, sports, NIL, or athlete marketing experience

  • Experience scaling a consumer brand from startup to growth stage

Compensation

This will be a contract position to start, and then move into a salaried position with health benefits and other perks including a meaningful equity opportunity.
