She Plays exists to help women and non-binary athletes build brands, launch merchandise, and earn meaningful income from the communities they've worked so hard to build.

Women's sports are experiencing unprecedented growth, yet most athletes still aren't able to capitalize on their audiences the way male athletes can.

We're changing that.

Our platform helps athletes launch beautiful online shops, sell custom merchandise, and build lasting brands—with up to 80% of every purchase going directly to the athlete.

We're looking for someone who is obsessed with women's sports and wants to help tell these stories every single day.

 

The Opportunity

We're looking for a highly organized, creative, detail-oriented Social Media & Community Manager to become the voice of She Plays across our social channels.

You'll work directly with our Head of Brand & Growth and our design team to bring campaigns, athlete stories, launches, and community conversations to life.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who loves social media, follows women's sports religiously, enjoys connecting with athletes, and thrives in a fast-moving startup environment.

 

What You'll Do

Social Media Management

  • Manage the She Plays social media calendar

  • Schedule and publish content across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest and emerging channels

  • Write engaging captions consistent with the She Plays brand voice

  • Monitor comments and messages

  • Identify trending moments and recommend real-time content opportunities

Canva Content Creation

  • Create polished social graphics using Canva

  • Resize and adapt creative assets for multiple platforms

  • Build carousels, stories, reels graphics, quote cards, announcements and educational posts

  • Maintain consistency with She Plays brand standards

Athlete Outreach

  • Research athletes who may be a good fit for She Plays

  • Build outreach lists

  • Send personalized outreach messages

  • Coordinate follow-up communication

  • Help onboard athletes into our community

Media & PR Support

  • Research journalists, podcasts and creators covering women's sports

  • Build and maintain media lists

  • Coordinate press outreach

  • Track media opportunities

  • Assist with press releases and campaign launches

Community Building

  • Engage with athletes, fans and sports organizations online

  • Celebrate athlete milestones

  • Monitor conversations happening in women's sports

  • Surface community feedback and ideas to the leadership team

Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Head of Brand & Growth on campaign strategy

  • Coordinate with our Creative Team to bring campaigns to life

  • Maintain an organized content calendar

  • Ensure every post is accurate, polished and on-brand

  • Shopify

  • Later, Buffer or other scheduling platforms

  • Influencer marketing

  • Basic photo or video editing

  • AI tools like ChatGPT for content ideation and workflow efficiency

 

Required Experience

Must Have

  • Passion for women's sports and a genuine understanding of the athletes, leagues, and conversations shaping the industry.

  • 1–3+ years of experience managing social media accounts for brands, startups, nonprofits, creators, or sports organizations.

  • Demonstrated success growing social audiences and driving measurable engagement, website traffic, lead generation, or sales.

  • Expert-level proficiency in Canva with a strong eye for design, typography, and brand consistency.

  • Extensive experience creating and publishing content for Instagram, TikTok, and X.

  • Experience managing social media calendars and scheduling tools.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

  • Outstanding attention to detail—you catch the little things before anyone else does.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment where priorities evolve quickly.

  • Highly organized with excellent project management and communication skills.

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience working with athletes, sports brands, sports organizations, or influencers.

  • Familiarity with Meta Business Suite and TikTok analytics.

  • Experience using Later, Buffer, Hootsuite, or similar scheduling platforms.

  • Experience with media relations or PR outreach.

  • Familiarity with Shopify and Klaviyo.

  • Experience using AI tools like ChatGPT to improve content creation and workflow efficiency.

  • Basic photo and video editing skills.
